It’s safe to say that no two days are ever the same in the life of a real estate agent. We’re more than just Realtors. We’re educators, counselors, babysitters, financial advisors, and life coaches.


With what can feel like a million balls to juggle at once, it can be stressful to find your footing long enough to add “industry leader” to the lengthy list of responsibilities.


But it’s easier than you think. These are the qualities transform good agents into real estate rockstars:


Confidence. The cheesy cliché is true: if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will. Why should a seller trust you to negotiate on their behalf if you’re instantly willing to drop your commission from 6% to 5% to avoid ruffling any feathers? Believe in the unique value that you have to offer and stand by it.

Curiosity. A passion for constant learning and development is the difference that divides leaders and followers. If you’re not constantly looking for ways to grow and become better, you’re falling behind. Listen to audiobooks and industry podcasts while zipping between showings and make training sessions a non-negotiable slot on your calendar.

Communication. 99% of problems can be avoided with clear and effective communication. This goes way beyond what comes out of your mouth. Your body language, eye contact, and gestures all play a huge role in the way you are perceived. Try role playing typical client scenarios with another agent to identify areas that you can strengthen your skills.

Commitment. If your instinct is to run at the first sign of trouble, real estate is not the field for you. The best agents know how to weather the storm and persevere when it feels like no one in the world wants to sell their home. The best agents don’t need a Plan B because they’re ready to work as hard as it takes to reach their goals.
